Week in Review + Festivus Christmas Slowdown

Short post, so no manga review today (But I marathoned Medaka Box earlier this week, so expect a review of that some time down the line).

That being said, the picture above speaks for itself on something or other. Most likely exactly how noobish I am. As you can see, I've made a whopping $200 since beginning as an affiliate marketer all the way back in July or so. Now to be fair I set myself a goal of $3000 a month in September, and only got really serious (as in doing something every day) halfway through October. Actually ChaCha has thrown me off from most of my really regulatory stuff, simply because I can't afford to not take the guaranteed cash, yet. Anyway, add this to my CPA earnings of $21, and a few other sites where I've made a couple dozen dollars and I'm about 1/4 of the way to the $1000 goal I set for the new year (without using ChaCha). With this becoming apparent in my mind I decided I'd have to kick it into high gear around December 21st.

And by "kick it into high gear" I mean expend the $300 some odd dollars in assorted free advertising credits to promote my landers. I do have Aweber now, like, officially, and I even have a subscriber to my sniper site (which is ranking 37 for its purposefully targeted keyterm that gets 3000 searches a month, and 23 for its accidental keyword that gets almost 9000 searches a month). I also signed up for a 7-day free trial to Linkvana, and today all I did was post about 20 of their little posts for each my sniper site, and the blogger blog I set up for another product.

However, it looks like I'm going to have to start majorly fund raising, even with the cash I have I still need about $1000 by January 3rd if I plan to return to school. And that's assuming I can cash out all of my Clickbank earnings (which according to them I'll only actually get around $160 or something around that amount). But I am seriously considering taking some serious time off and going full time. I"m also going to be moving come the new year, so it might be easier to just not go back to school immediately.

Anyway, the secondary part of this post is kind of something I (and people on digital point, yes, I still go there) have noticed: Christmas is a bad time for digital products. My guess is people are too busy planning parties and buying tangible gifts (cause let's face it, no one wants to hand their family member a laptop and pull up an ebook on Christmas... Well, maybe if they bought the laptop) to look around online for cures to whatever ails them.

I'm thinking the only things that are doing really well are CPA offers. Even my Adsense income is down (part of this probably has to do with me only have 20 hubs and two blogger blogs to make up Adsense- BTW, I've made a combined $40 between my account and my mom's account, which I basically use for backup, but she has some stuff that's given us about $5).

Then again, maybe all the guys at digitalpoint are really morons and I'm a loser and people are still buying like crazy. I have no idea. But I tell you, I can't wait until this time next year when I'll (hopefully) have a better ground to stand on and not be constantly scrambling at things to make money. What's your experience this Christmas? Making the same amount of money? More? Less? Comment below and share.

Well, that's it for me this week. I know I said I would try and get a rough draft of my ebook, but I didn't do any work on that either. I'm definitely going to finish it by the New Year, though. Good luck and good bye!

P.S. I hope someone got the Seinfeld reference; I watched that episode earlier this week, lol.
