Alright, I'm back again! So last post I outlined my PPC strategy and annoyance with my lack of time/motivation. Now I'm back on that horse, however, and this post is going to cover two things- 1. What's happened with the PPC campaign I promised I'd set up, and 2. My unofficial review of Wealthy Affiliate, which I promised I'd keep updated on.
I'll start by updating everyone on my mother's PPC campaign (which I do most of the technical work for, nonetheless). I told you guys I tweaked a website she bought earlier in this whole make money online mess, and I set up an awful landing page. I mean, it's simply horrid. I was planning to go back and tweak it by today, but I've had so little time between doing ChaCha and writing more articles (used free traffic system to get some backlinks to another article of mine; last time I went from not being in the rankings for a keyword to result number 8 with free traffic, so hopefully I'll get similar results this time). Anyway, even with the awful landing page, we've still got pretty good results from this campaign- 17 click throughs to the merchant site, and 1 order form submit. I'm still not sure what it means by order form submit- according to clickbank it's the people that click "submit" but as we haven't gotten a sale yet maybe it counts people that put bogus info in too.
Anyway, I'm really testing the Adwords interface with this so far, more than anything else. Yesterday I pointed out that we were essentially losing money without tweaking our campaign, but my mom insisted we keep it running for another 4 days or so (when we'll run out of the coupon money) I'm going to try and tweak it starting tomorrow; edit my ad groups to target lower costing keywords and that kind of thing. The terminology for PPC still eludes me, so forgive me if that was too vague.
And now, subject number two: Wealthy Affiliate. If you remember from my previous post on Wealthy Affiliate, I said I would keep you guys updated with my progress. I kind of have done so because everything I do know about PPC came from Wealthy Affiliate, and half the other stuff I'm doing with article marketing and making money online came about because of Wealthy Affiliate. But I'll get a little more in depth here with why you really should join Wealthy Affiliate.
8-Week Action Plan: The first really great reason to start for newbies in internet marketing and the general making money online prospect is the 8 week action plan. I admit, it's kind of looseleaf and a little hard to use all the concepts you start learning immediately. However, for completely new people- people that have no idea what a keyword is or what SEO is, this is a GREAT starter kit. I kind of freely learned all this stuff by spending every waking minute (that I wasn't ChaChaing) googling this stuff and squeezing every bit of info I could from random free sites and helpful forum people, but a lot of the stuff I heard about via free methods came back up and became a lot easier to understand. I'm still by no means an expert, but I laugh now at the stuff I found confusing or complicated only 3 months ago.
Site Rubix: I really want to play around with Site Rubix a little more, but it seems like a really great system to just get your sites out there. I was under the impression you were given unlimited sites to host at a time, which would've been awesome, but I now know you only get up to 3 domains that you can have active at a time. Still not bad when you consider Site Rubix allows you a lot of free reign even if you're non-technical/too lazy to site build from scratch.
WA Jobs: OMG, the Jobs space! Okay, so I haven't actually gotten one of the jobs that are listed here, nor have I asked for services, but the avenue to so simply find a job you can do (like, for me, writing articles) is great! If you're low on money and wondering how fast you'll be able to make cash, don't worry- just become proficient at writing 250-500 word articles and go to the jobs space while you're learning. Like I said, I haven't hired yet, despite putting in for jobs, but I've only gone out for 2 so far and both are in a kind of oversaturated market- article writing. If you know how to code and create websites or are confident in your SEO skills you can sign up for less competitive/higher paying jobs. 1 in a website creation might be enough to cover your membership for a month.
Resources: A little sidebar to the right of your main page when you log in will give you access to the WA resources. These are things that other members have written or found online that they think is pretty useful. One guy wrote an AMAZING guide to CPA advertising via PPC, and I'm certainly going to try it as soon as I get into a CPA network. I'd heard about the theory elsewhere, but I just never saw the actual step-by-step way to do it before his resource was posted. There's also an ebook on PPC advertising I'm reading now.
Forums: This is my favorite part of being a member by far. The forum is full of people that are at your level of experience or higher, and you WILL learn a lot from them regardless. It's also very inspiring to see people who have succeeded, whether on the large scale or on the small scale, and it definitely helped me get pumped up.
In conclusion... Wealthy Affiliate really is awesome.
