Alright, let's get started, shall we? You can see the introductory side bar gives a pretty good run down on what this blog is all about, but I can provide a refresher course in case you forgot.
My name is Brian, and I'm working on working! As you can see, I'm calling this site "brokeaffiliate", and for exactly that reason. Making a living online is way harder than I thought. Currently I pull most of my income by being an "independent contractor" working with ChaCha to answer questions that are txted or called in. In addition that that, I'm working on surveys online and various other GPT and PPC websites (a list will follow at the end of this post).
What are GPT and PPC websites? Basically GPT sites-or "get-paid to" sites- allow users to get some cash by doing various things, like online surveys. Companies love feedback on their products and/or advertisements, so they give money to the site for that feedback, and the site in turn promotes the company's questionnaires and ads and pays you a percentage of the money they are paid by advertisers. Everybody wins! PPC-pay per click- sites are basically the same, only they work with 1 method: clicking ads for money. From my experience, GPT sites pay more than PPC per ad/survey, but PPC takes far less time to do in one sitting.
So those are my main methods of making money online, but the money that I currently make adds up to about... minimum wage. So my goals now are to overcome that little bump and start making a truly promising income from the internet. Which leads to affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is still pretty new to me, but I know the basics are that you affiliatize a program or product- endorse it and evaluate it- and then get others to sign up for the program, or buy the product through your referral link. My favorite project, which I've already got some articles and tweets (join me on twitter!) about has to be, hands down, Mr. Tissa Godavitarne's amazing ACME People Search Engine.
Well, that's it for me. As promised, a list of some of my bigger money makers:

So I'll keep everyone updated on what I find out about affiliate programs, GPT sites, and PPC sites weekly, if not daily, and comment in case you were wondering how to get started with anything. I can share with you my experiences, and hopefully we can make some money together!
