Okay, so I mentioned GDI earlier on this blog, but I didn't really focus on it because ACME People Search was the main point I was working on. This is just basically a follow up of that post with solely GDI and my experience with it so far and expectations.
So I signed up with GDI basically last month because I was anxious to get some residual income instead of having to just rely on surveys and ChaCha forever to make money online. And so GDI (Global Domains International) comes in.
What Global Domains International is really is a hosting service. It allows users to buy a domain name and host a webiste for about $10 per month, which seems to be a fair price, now adays, for reliable hosting. However, most people don't sign up with it because of that, but instead, because they want to make some cold hard cash online, and man can you make cash. The affiliate program is the best reason to sign up, because everyone who you refer and who pays for the hosting, gives you 10% of the money GDI gets from them
Referring thirteen people would effectively cancel out your GDI hosting bill alone (thirteen because of the $3 paypal fee for cashout), if they all buy just one domain. And if you remember from my post on ACME People Search, the referrals commissions don't stop there. You get paid 10% of the money your referrers referrals pay as well. And it goes on for another 3 levels for a total of 5 levels.
So far, I've gotten nadah for referrals, but I can definitely see the potential. Although I wish I could find statistics for how many people quit and at what time they quit after joining the program. Getting to the $13 you need to break even would be painful if someone decided to drop out after that. Then again, I guess you'd have a pretty good shot at one of your referrals getting their own referrals and helping you.
One of the other reason I joined GDI, though, was because of their weekly $100 leaderboard program. Basically, if you get 5 people signed up under you in a given week, then you can cash out and get $100 right off the back, no waiting involved. I imagine after I start marketing more readily and understand more about SEO and building websites, I'll be able to get at least five. But you get paid for every five, so 15 people signing up would net you $300. I'm starting to envy big families...
GDI's got its own promotional tools as well--many of which I can afford right now-- like DVDs and business cards that are custom made with your referral ID printed on them for the access code. However, I'm just starting to hand out flyers, which they provide a formatting for free of charge if you go to marketing in the forums.

Making residual income online is a coveted market, even for people actively making monehy. Everyone wants to be able to do so automatically to save time. Considering that, overall, I'm pretty confident I'll be able to make money with GDI. Sure, it'll probably take a while to make their "lower estimate" of 3,105 per month residually they boast about (to do this, you need to basically have five referrals who get five referrals, and it continues like that matrixing till your fifth level). If you're looking for a residual income opportunity, GDI is definitely one to start getting involved in.
